STRUCTURE can also provide engineering services for the commercial sector. Below is a summary of each of the structural services that we offer.
Our team has worked on numerous commercial buildings varying from smaller projects to larger commercial installations for global tech companies. These projects can come with their own unique challenges due to the varying techniques used to construct these spaces.
Our team has a long-standing relationship with many of Sydney’s leading retail centre managers. We have undertaken numerous projects at Westfield, Top Ryde, Birkenhead Point, MLC Centre, The Galeries and many more. Working with clients such as Sephora, Zara, Cartier and a leading global tech company, the interiors and shopfronts often have a high level of finish and finesse which typically requires lateral structural solutions to achieve the desired design. We also have extensive experience providing engineering design and certification of glazed shopfronts and retail spaces.
Prior to the detailed design of a commercial refurbishment project, STRUCTURE have been engaged to undertake feasibility studies on existing buildings to assess the commercial viability of a proposal. Our past work includes assessing the removal of major loadbearing columns, the installation of a new lift and services core through the existing floors of a building and the addition of new levels on an existing structure. Through rigorous on-site destructive investigation/testing and a review of Local Council archive drawings of the structure, we can provide multiple structural solutions at an early stage so that the feasibility of the proposals can be assessed. Our rigorous assessment of existing buildings means we are often able to minimise the extent of proposed structural intervention as well as providing both commercial and environmental advantages over reconstruction.
