REDFERN MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT STATION REFURBISHMENT
Redfern Municipal Electric Light Station, built in 1891, was Sydney's first supplier of electricity and is an important example of late Victorian industrial architecture. The building has been adaptively reused throughout the course of its life having served as office space and more recently converted into a residence. STRUCTURE were engaged to provide structural design solutions for the addition of a new internal level, alterations and additions to the existing roof structure and to certify the demolition of non-original internal partitions and a mezzanine floor.
