TREETOP STUDIO
The Treetop Studio sits propped above an open carport slab which is accessed via the property’s rear lane. Peeping out from between the neighbouring jacaranda and eucalyptus trees, this small building provides a creative space for a writer and musician.
The structural form comprises of braced and portal-framed structural steelwork with infill timber flooring. The building is founded on a suspended concrete carport slab which was piled to ensure the preservation of an adjoining tree. The skewed roof profile is formed conventionally in timber framing with minimal steel framing required to detail the concealed gutter. The studio is accessed via an elegant folded-steel plate stairs.
